We are looking for an exceptional Engineering Team Lead who is passionate about designing and building products of digital financial service to help drive our rapid growth.

About the Role

Our engineering team lead’s focus is on our people and the delivery of valuable and usable software increments. We believe in discovering, establishing, and embodying strong agile principles. We have full faith and trust in our team members to decide and create results based on our principles.

While having a strong technical background is important for this role, we want to create long lasting, stable, maintainable, evolving effective software and teams. We've seen that applying software engineering principles to modern organizations and a desire to learn can create environments of growth. For our team members themselves and the organization.

  • Having lead cross functional teams that produced at least 2 applications delivering value to customers (in any capacity)
  • Proven track record of enabling performing agile software development principles such as DevOps, CI/CD, Scrum, Kanban, etc.
  • Proficiency on building for (cloud-)platforms (Windows, Linux, AWS, GCP, Azure,...)
  • Knowledgeable about programming principles, standards and how to implement them
  • A strong desire to see people grow
  • A strong desire to getting things done
  • Strong communication skills

Your first week

The first week is all about context. The why what and how of our organization. The first week is always exciting and challenging. We want you to get to know the team and gain confidence that we will always have your back.

Your first month

The first month is there to orient yourself. You will know who knows what, and will have collected enough information to create your game plan for the foreseeable future. You have picked up a couple of major threads, for which you feel responsible. You know what to do next.

Your first quarter

The first quarter is for laying the groundwork for future growth and impact. We will have discovered or deepened the understanding of principles for our team. You will have put forward new initiatives based on our goals, which we gained deeper understanding of. We will have reflected consistently on what is working for us, what is not, and what problems we are trying to solve.

Work environment

  • You will work directly with our CTO.
  • You will be a core member of our engineering manager chapter, a group of all engineering managers and principal engineers


  • We are a remote-first company. Our engineering team members are spread across the world, but we need to be in similar timezones.
  • This role is focusing on relationships. Some colleagues prefer to work a few days a week in our office in Freiburg, Germany. Being able to come in once in a while is a strong plus.
  • This is a permanent, full-time (40h/wk) role.
  • 30 days of paid vacation.
